Former governor of Oyo State Omololu Olunloyo has come out of coma at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

Olunloyo went into coma weeks ago and was admitted at the hospital’s intensive care unit.

Chairman of Ovation Media Group Dele Momodu revealed in an Instagram post that he visited Olunloyo on Tuesday.

“Baba had slipped into coma weeks ago but came back and family and friends are over the moon for his recovery. As always, we discussed our mutual interests in politics, literature, governance, education, medicine, history and so on,” the former presidential aspirant captioned his post on Wednesday.

Olunloyo spoke in the video which Momodu posted. He thanked the publisher for the visit and also wished him long life.

The Olunloyo family first spoke about the ex-governor’s health on July 9.

“In the tradition of the Olunloyo family of Ibadanland, and based on the principles of integrity, inclusion, and openness upon which our revered father VOSO has always stood, we would like to inform the Nigerian public that we would greatly appreciate your prayers for our father who is presently in the ICU at UCH Ibadan.

“As a public figure, we believe that his condition should not be hidden from the Nigerian public who have a right to know about their leaders,” the family said in a statement.
