Comedian and actor, Okey Bakassi, has blamed goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, for Nigeria’s exit from the African Cup of Nations.

Riyad Mahrez curled in a free kick in stoppage time to give the North Africans a 2-1 win over Nigeria in a tense match on Sunday.

Okey Bakassi, 49, praised the Super Eagles squad but said that the goalkeeper had disappointed in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“@ng_supereagles minus goalkeeper you guys tried and we appreciate you. #afcon2019 #algnga,” he wrote.

The Algerians went ahead when William Troost Ekong turned a Mahrez cross into his own net five minutes before halftime.

Nigeria equalised midway through the second half with a penalty awarded for handball and converted by Odion Ighalo following a lengthy VAR review.

Algeria will face Senegal in Friday’s final while Nigeria play Tunisia in the third-place match on Wednesday.
