Dubious penalty calls have become a regular feature in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this season.

There’s always a controversial last-minute spot kick each week, a trend which has irritated followers of the league.

Federation Cup Champions, FC IfeanyiUbah, have benefited the most with 11, while Akwa United have fallen victims the highest number of times.

Even leading goal scorer, Stephen Odey, has enjoyed that favour with nine out of his 16 goals coming from the spot.

But the worst yet came on Matchday 26, with a total of seven penalties awarded across 10 games.

Plateau United needed one to beat Nasarawa United 1-0 while Remo Stars got theirs also against Akwa United.

Both Mountain of Fire Ministries FC (MFM FC) and Sunshine Stars got one each as they played 2-1, with Enyimba and Wiki Tourists receiving their fair share to win.

Nigerians appear to have had enough and voiced their frustration on Twitter.
