UK-based Nigerian woman Pelumi Nubi, who is on a solo road trip from London to Lagos has been involved in an accident.

She shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday showing her damaged car.

“Say a prayer for me,” Nubi begged her followers.

The video contained graphic images of the car which she began her trip with. An unidentified person was also seen being attended to by medics in the video.

Her followers have begun expressing concerns about her health in the comment section of her post.

Nubi was scheduled to be received at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) on March 23. However, her arrival in Lagos has been delayed due to travel issues. The proposed arrival date is now April 7.

Although it was unclear where the accident occurred, it is believed to have happened in Liberia where she shared her last Instagram posts. Nubi was held at the border of the West African country for two days over her right-hand car.

The 29-year-old began the trip on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.

This is not the travel content creator’s first road trip. She has completed the Lagos-Ghana route twice, spent two weeks exploring Namibia and driven from London to Lake Como, Italy.

According to her, the London to Lagos road trip was driven by the pleasure of adventure, a desire to encourage other female solo travellers, particularly black women, and a desire to challenge preconceived notions about what’s possible.
