Self-styled investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has said that the former governor of Lagos State, Michael Otedola, did not predict tragedies on bridge named after him.

Ms Olunloyo said this in a tweet on Wednesday in reaction to multiple auto crashes on Otedola Bridge section of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accidents involved about “ten vehicles including a containerised truck, a ‘pickup’ and a high capacity bus as well as several cars.”

One person was killed in the accidents while several others were injured.

Olunloyo, 55, said her heart went to the victims of the accident.

“My heart goes to everyone that died or was injured in today’s Otedola Bridge accident. Sad that late Governor Michael Otedola himself did not predict the kind of traffic tragedies anywhere in Lagos let alone a bridge named after him God save Nigeria,” she wrote.

LASTMA has advised motorists to use the CMD Road from Secretariat bus stop to connect Berger bus stop until the traffic situation improves.
