Super Eagles of Nigeria could play two heavyweight international friendly games in the coming FIFA friendly window according to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The football body is proposing African champions, the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire, and four-time world champions, Italy, for the Sunday Oliseh-led team.

NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, disclosed that negotiations are ongoing for the games with the Azzurri desperate to play the Eagles.

“Nothing has been concluded yet but we wish to play reigning African champions Cote d’Ivoire in London.

“There is a proposal to play Italy, who are excited about playing Nigeria after we defeated Cameroon recently,” disclosed Pinnick.

“We want to make the most of every FIFA friendly window by playing top quality matches.”

There will be two FIFA friendly windows in the first half of the new year – at the end of March and between June 8 and 16.

Both games will be used to prepare the team ahead of the 2017 AFCON and 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
