The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and popular comedian, Ayo Makun, better known as AY, led the tributes in honour of Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala, who clocked 23 on Monday.

Oshoala, two-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, was born on October 9, 1994.

While the NFF was very conventional in its goodwill message, AY somewhat went soft, describing the Dalian Quanjian FC forward as his “superstar baby” whom he’s “proud of”.

Oshoala’s impact since breaking into the national fold has simply been phenomenal.

In 2014, she led the Falconets to a second place finish at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The same year, her goalscoring heroics came to the fore as the Falcons clinched the African Women’s Championship.

Two years later, she produced even more impressive displays as the Nigerian ladies retained the title.

As expected, fans were all over social media to mark her day.

Here’s how few reacted to the ex-Liverpool and Arsenal ladies’ birthday on Twitter.
