My fitness not an issue, I’m not applying for bricklaying, grave digging — Tinubu

Bola Tinubu

Presidential aspirant Bola Tinubu on Friday said concerns about his fitness are being exaggerated, adding that he was not applying for a job that requires physical strength.

The All Progressives Congress chieftain spent a couple of months last year in the UK where he underwent knee surgery.

“I am not applying for the job of bricklaying or grave digging. I went to school to study accountancy and management,” said Tinubu during a visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun.

“I am applying for brain, intelligent, thinking job and I will do it right. The job I want to do for Nigeria is for Nigeria to be greater and to be proud of itself,” he added.

The former Lagos State governor was accompanied by Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Tinubu, who further explained that Nigerians must continue to remain united irrespective of tribe or religion, urged the citizens to embrace the lyrics of the old national anthem that stress that tribe and tongue may differ, but in brotherhood we stand.

Responding, Oba Olanipekun said Tinubu has the capacity to be president. He prayed that God would grant his heart’s desires.
