Glo Festival of Joy promo brought a mix of excitement and disbelief to winners on Monday in Ibadan, Oyo State, as Globacom presented prizes, including Kia Picanto cars, power generators, sewing machines and grinding machines.
Among the winners was Pastor Oluwole Abayomi from Akure, who received a power generator. Sharing his initial reaction to being informed of his win, Abayomi said, “In fact, my brother told me to be careful as it could be a ploy to kidnap me.” Despite his scepticism, he expressed gratitude and prayed for more prosperity for Globacom.
The event also celebrated two winners of brand-new Kia Picanto cars. Adeola Silas, a 44-year-old quantity surveyor, could not contain his excitement, exclaiming “Wow, wow!” upon seeing the car on display. Mr Silas remarked, “I am so delighted my desire has today become a reality.”
Similarly, Seun Okeowo, a 39-year-old media practitioner, shared his joy at winning, expressing gratitude to Globacom and praying for the company’s continued success in spreading joy across the country.
Other winners included Oluwole Olusegun, an Ibadan-based teacher, who received a sewing machine. He noted that the machine would enable his wife and children to learn fashion design. Meanwhile, Waheed Azeez, a 51-year-old trailer driver, won a grinding machine, which he said his wife would use to start a milling business.
Deputy governor of Oyo State Adebayo Lawal, who was special guest at the event, commended Globacom for its commitment to rewarding customer loyalty. “Globacom is a pride of Nigeria and Africa. It has continued to offer affordable and quality products and services for the benefit of Nigerians while empowering several people through its loyalty reward promotions like Festival of Joy,” he said.
Globacom’s head of business west Abdulrazak Ande explained that the Festival of Joy promo is open to both new and existing subscribers who can participate by opting into the promo and meeting the recharge threshold for various prizes.
The event was graced by representatives of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) and a host of Nigerian celebrities, including comedian Seyi Law, Nollywood stars Odunlade Adekola, Toyin Abraham, Tunde Usman (Okele) and Bimbo Thomas, as well as content creator Kiekie.
