My album will make history, CKay brags after Headies snub

Singer Chukwuka Ekweani, popularly known as Ckay, has bragged about his forthcoming album making history after getting snubbed in the 2022 Headies Awards nominations list.

The ‘Love Nwantiti’ star whose album is set to be released later this year, noted that his album will make history in a post shared on Twitter on Wednesday.

“My album will make history,” he tweeted.

This came hours after his fans expressed disappointment over the omission of his songs in the full list of the 2022 Headies nominations.

In the nominations list released on Tuesday, CKay’s name only appeared as a featured artist in Ayra Starr’s ‘Beggie Beggie’ which bagged double domination in the Best R&B Single and Best Collaboration categories.

Speaking on why CKay’s song did not get a nomination, comedian Seyi Law pointed out that ‘Love Nwantiti’ did not qualified because it was released in 2019.
