Media Integrity Initiative Africa (MIIA) has unveiled QEDNG publisher Olumide Iyanda and other facilitators for its fifth free media training series scheduled for May 2026.
In a statement released in Lagos, the organisation said the training, coordinated by veteran journalist Femi Akintunde-Johnson, will hold on Saturday, May 16 and Saturday, May 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. via Zoom.
The two-day programme will feature four modules to be delivered by media and communication professionals.
On the first day, CEO of Diamond Publications Ltd. and editor-in-chief of Media Review Lanre Ìdòwú will lead a session titled “Media Regulation in Nigeria: How Ethical Codification and Co-Regulation Can Boost Professionalism and Impact the Bottom Line.” Mr Idowu has worked with Daily Times, The Guardian on Sunday, The Democrat Weekly and Thisweek.
The second session on the same day, “Crisis Communication and Management,” will be facilitated by Alex Ogundadegbe, a former editor at The Week and assistant features editor at Saturday Punch.
On the second day, Ohi Alegbe will handle “Corporate Social Responsibility and Media Engagement.” He is a former deputy editor at African Concord and a former group general manager of public affairs at NNPC.
Iyanda will facilitate the final session titled “Mastering the Art of Interview Across Media Platforms.” He is a former correspondent at The Punch, editor of Saturday Independent and convener of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit.
The organisation said participation is free but registration is mandatory. New participants are required to use this link, while returning participants are to use a separate link provided for previous cohorts.
MIAA said the training is part of its effort to support ethical and practical media development across the continent.
