Mariah Carey advised against performing in Belgium after terror attacks

Mariah Carey has reportedly been advised not to perform in Brussels on her birthday this week.

The superstar, who is currently on her Sweet Sweet Fantasy European Tour, is set to take to the stage on Sunday but her security team is allegedly “strongly against” the show taking place at the Forest National arena after today’s terror attacks.

According to US gossip website TMZ, there are a number of reasons the venue could be targeted – she’s a famous singer who is engaged to billionaire James Packer and she’s performing on her 46th birthday, making it a special occasion.

At least 34 people were killed after suicide bombers blew themselves at the city’s international airport and a metro station in two separate attacks on Tuesday.

Mariah’s team are also said to be worried about the airports being shut and fans, the stage crew, sound engineers and, well, the singer herself, struggling to the 8,000 capacity venue on time.

The ‘Obsessed’ hitmaker, who will perform in London on Wednesday night, is said to be waiting for advice from the regional U.S. Embassy before a final decision is made.
