Magistrate court summons Fani-Kayode’s estranged wife over alleged forgery

Femi Fani-Kayode and wife Precious Chikwendu

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Karu, Abuja on Wednesday summoned Precious Chikwendu, estranged wife of former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, for allegedly falsifying court documents.

The court had heard from the police that Ms Chikwendu forged court documents to malign Mr Fani-Kayode.

Magistrate Elizabeth Woni issued the summon shortly before the arraignment of Emmanuel Anakam, whom the police said was responsible for reports in the media alleging that Fani-Kayode carried out domestic violence especially against his aides.

Anakam pleaded not guilty to the allegation. He was granted bail in the sum of N1.5 million with two sureties in like sum.

Among other conditions, the court held that the sureties must be reasonable Nigerians resident within the Federal Capital Territory.

The court ordered that Chikwendu and others listed in the charge are to appear before the court on November 5.

Meanwhile, Chikwendu also has a suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja where she is seeking a restraining order against Fani-Kayode and the police.

The former beauty queen and the ex-minister have been at each other’s throats over the custody of their four boys.
