Actress Lala Akindoju has reacted to the leaked video of the Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) for the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) meeting.

The now-deleted video on YouTube was uploaded on Nolly What Now channel on Saturday, October 22, the same day the channel was created.

NOSC chairperson Chineze Anyaene-Abonyi presided over the meeting held on Thursday, October 20, a day before the expiration of a one-week extension given by the Oscars for Nigeria to submit a film for the 2023 awards.

However, instead of calling for a revote as some Nollywood stakeholders had expected, the chairperson simply asked committee members to answer yes or no if they wanted to upload the rules of the NOSC.

The meeting ended with the committee retaining its earlier decision not to submit a film for the 2023 Oscars.

During the highly charged meeting. Anyaene-Abonyi accused some members of the committee of lobbying others to vote for a particular film.

Reacting in a Twitter post on Sunday, Lala Akindoju expressed worry over the continuous leaking of private emails of members of the committee.

She wrote: “I think I’m more worried about the mole that’s leaking every single deliberation , private emails and all.”

Following the outcome of the meeting, filmmaker Kenneth Gyang announced his resignation from the committee.
