La La Land matches Oscars record with14 nominations

La La Land

Nomination for the 2017 Oscars were announced on Tuesday with La La Land, the musical movie starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling leading with 14 nominations.

The nomination matches a record jointly held by All About Eve (1950) and Titanic (1997).

Nine movies will compete for Hollywood’s top prize for Best Picture.

They are La La Land, Moonlight , Fences, Hidden Figures, Arrival, Hell or High Water, Lion, Manchester by the Sea and Hacksaw Ridge.

The 89th Academy Awards ceremony, to be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, is slated for February 26.
