Kunle Afolayan names puppy after Kunle Remi’s character Saro in Anikulapo

Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has named his puppy after Kunle Remi’s character Saro from his hit film Anikulapo.

The filmmaker posted a video of the puppy and its mum named Ayo on Instagram on Tuesday.

Kunle said he has decided to name the puppy Saro and will find him the right Arolake, another character in Anikulapo who played Saro’s love interest.

He wrote: “So this is Ayo, you guys follow the story so Ayo ati Ire they had a baby and I’ve been thinking of the best name for this puppy and today I’ve decided to name him Saro. So from today his name is Saro and we’ll find him the right Arolake.”

Captioning the video, he wrote: “Ire and Ayo gave birth to a charming young man and he shall be called “SARO”.

Several celebrities stormed the comment section of the post to react to Kunle’s funny video.

Muyiwa Ademola wrote: “I am afraid, if he will truly live up to his name, he would surely run away with one Arolake before you find your own Arolake for him. We day watch ooo.”

Reacting to Muyiwa comment, Kunle Remi replied with laugh emojis.

“Saro ke! All the dogs in the neighborhood are in trouble bayii o ,” Dayo Amusa wrote.

Enyinna Nwigwe wrote: “Congrats @kunleremiofficial He will grow up a king.”

Set in the 17th century Oyo Kingdom, Anikulapo centers on the story of Saro, a young cloth weaver, who is brought back to life by a mystical bird after he was beaten to death for having an affair with Arolake, the Alaafin’s youngest wife.

The movie stars Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Sola Sobowale, Taiwo Hassan, Adebayo Salami, Dele Odule, Yinka Quadri, Faithia Williams, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Mr Macaroni, Sunday Omobolanle, Toyin Afolayan, Kareem Adepoju and Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
