Boko Haram wants N200m ransom for kidnapped NYSC member – Colleague

NYSC member kidnapped in Borno

A colleague of Abraham Amuta, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who was kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents, has said that the insurgents have made a demand of N200 million as ransom for Amuta.

Amuta was kidnapped alongside a pastor with the Living Faith Church, simply identified as Oyeleke, on April 10.

They were reportedly on their way to Chibok to distribute relief items to internally displaced persons and evangelise when they were abducted.

Amuta’s colleague, Success Ezeanya, told Punchng.com on Monday that he was informed by a member of the church that the insurgents have made a demand of N200 million for their release.

“I haven’t heard anything from AB’s family members. I think they are communicating directly with the church, so I have not heard anything directly from them. I know he is the only son, I don’t know if he is the only child. According to one of the church members, Boko Haram asked for a ransom of N200 million,” Ezeanya said.

Ezeanya, who had completed his NYSC programme, but remained in Borno in search of a job, also said Amuta whom he referred to as AB, was full of guts as he had experience in vigilante.
