Abducted Ekiti students regain freedom

Students and teachers of Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure, Ekiti State, who were kidnapped on Monday have regained their freedom.

Ekiti State Police Command spokesperson Sunday Abutu confirmed their release on Sunday.

Mr Abutu, however, disclosed that the driver of the bus from which the students and teachers were kidnapped is dead.

The students and teachers were taken to the palace of the Elemure of Emure Ekiti after they were discovered in the bush on Sunday morning.

Their abductors reportedly demanded N100 million as ransom for their freedom.

It was not immediately disclosed if a ransom was paid for the release of the abductees.
