Davido, on Monday, reacted to being ignored at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) while he was celebrating the MTV Europe Music Awards that he won.
The 24-year-old singer became the first African act to win two MTV EMAs in one night by winning the Best Worldwide Act and Best African Act.
Taking a direct swipe at AFRIMA, Davido posted a video on Instagram Story, saying: “Let those ones keep their awards, the award that peels
“Even the ones that I collected last year would have peeled completely.”
The singer continued, saying, “My name is David. You can’t play with me and get away with it. 2018, I’m coming for you”.
Although Davido never mentioned anyone’s name in the video, fans knew the shade was directed to Wizkid who defeated him among others to win multiple awards at AFRIMA 2017.
