Kate Henshaw mourns Osinbajo’s shoe designer OJ Best

Actress Kate Henshaw has mourned Vice President Yemi Osibanjo’s shoe designer OJ Best whose death was announced on Twitter on Sunday.

The announcement, which is believed to have been from the family of the deceased, read: “Painful exit! Call to Glory. The CEO of OJ Best footwear is Dead.”

Kate took to Twitter to express her grief over the death of the young entrepreneur. She described him as one who was dedicated to his craft.

The 50-year-old, who once patronised OJ Best, born Omale Ojima, thanked him for sharing his gift to the world.

“He was very dedicated to his craft..Met him when I ordered some footwear from him. He delivered them himself. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. Rest on bro… rest on from the cares of this world,” she wrote.

As of press time, the cause of death was yet to be revealed.

However, according to activist Rinu Oduala, the deceased suffered a serious heart attack before he died.

In 2020, Prof. Osinbajo surprised OJ Best when he sent his aides to the shoe designer who said he would make footwear for the vice president.

Osinbajo, who had been at the forefront of promoting Nigerian-made products, bought a number of shoes from the entrepreneur.

He later invited OJ Best to Aso Rock where the designer took his measurements for the footwear.

OJ Best had described Osinbajo as a “humble, simple, highly friendly and jovial” person.

Osinbajo’s patronage also gave OJ Best a push. Soon, Senator Dino Melaye contacted the shoemaker for his own pair.
