Mob kills man accused of kidnapping children in Anambra

A mob has allegedly killed a man in Anambra whom they accused of kidnapping children.

The man, identified as Paschal, was said to be passing by a village in the state when children broke his windscreen with stones.

The man was said to have stopped to get hold of the children.

Reports say that he caught one of them while the others fled calling him a kidnapper.

The villagers were reported to have pounced on him until he became unconscious.

A Twitter user, @franyjacobs, who narrated the incident on Wednesday, claimed that the deceased was a native of Anambra.

He said that Paschal was almost torched but for the intervention of policemen.

“Beating him up without allowing him to express himself. He was beaten and almost burnt if not for the policemen that intervened and took him to the hospital.

“He survived after they operated on him, but hours later after the operation, he started coughing for up to 1 hour.

“The hospital had no oxygen, he was rushed to another hospital in Onitsha and that’s how he died on getting there,” franyjacobs wrote.
