Nigerians couldn’t hold their joy after the Super Eagles booked a place in next year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The three-time African champion defeated Zambia 1-0 on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Alex Iwobi’s solitary effort in the 73rd minute was enough for Gernot Rohr’s team to seal their ticket to the Mundial.

Among the early birds who took to social media platform, Twitter, to celebrate that feat were President Muhammadu Buhari, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Senate President Burkola Saraki and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Other Nigerians promptly followed suit.
