The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into a state of mourning following the death of actor Junior Pope.
The actor and others drowned in Anam River on their way to a movie location on Wednesday and their bodies have been recovered.
The 39-year-old had earlier shared a video of himself and others on his Instagram account on the boat on their to the location.
In the video, the actor could be heard telling the boat rider speeding, to slow down. Junior Pope stated that he is an only child and has three children he is raising.
“Abeg no vex, na only me them born oo!@ I get three children na me go raise them, bros abeg. Oh Jesus what is this? I get three children na me go raise them, take am small small. This is a risk, see the risk we take to entertain you, I am begging the captain that I am the only child and I have three boys I’m, raising,” he said.
Captioning the video, he wrote: “See me lamenting……The risk we take to entertain you; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…… Na wahoooooo …. Who does that??👆 @adanmaluke production”
Junior Pope is known for his excellent portrayal of the villain in movies.
The Enugu-born actor tied the knot with his wife Jennifer Awele in 2014.
