Globe Motors chairman, Willy Anumudu, dies in Lagos

An influential car dealer, Willy Anumudu, has died in Lagos.

Celebrity publisher, Dele Momodu, announced the death on Tuesday on social media.

He said Mr Anumudu, the chairman of Globe Motors, suffered health challenges few days ago, though tested negative for the coronavirus.

He wrote: “One of Nigeria’s biggest car dealers WILLY ANUMUDU has died! The Chairman of GLOBE MOTORS, Victoria Island, suffered some health challenges few days ago and ‘was tested for COVID-19 which came out negative’. He was to be air-lifted to Germany this morning but died about 4am.”

Mr Momodu added that the deceased’s wife, Nkiru Anumudu, was in London when her husband died.

Mrs Anumudu was one of the socialites who attended the 80th birthday of Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the UK, Justice George Oguntade, in London on March 10.

Anumudu leaves behind his wife and four children.
