Management of The Polytechnic Ibadan has suspended the Student Union Government (SUG) of the institution.

Spokesman of the institution, Adewole Soladoye, announced the suspension on Thursday morning.

Sports director of the school’s chapter of National Association of Polytechnic Engineering Students (NAPES), Tobi Oyeniyi, was on Wednesday stabbed in the head while a student was brutally beaten after Faculty of Engineering (FENG) Queens lost a football match to their colleagues in Faculty of Business and Communications Studies (FBCS) Queens.

Mr Soladoye said the suspension was necessary to restore calm in the institution ahead of examinations next week.

He urged students to prepare for their examinations, adding that the management would not hesitate to punish anyone who flouts rules guiding the polytechnic.
