I won’t stop speaking about living with disability – Gbenga Daniel’s son

Adebola Daniel Debola Daniel

Adebola Daniel, son of former Governor Gbanga Daniel of Ogun State, has said he will not stop speaking about the challenges of living with disability.

The wheelchair-bound disability advocate made the statement in a Twitter post on Wednesday.

“This year, I won’t stop speaking about this issue. I’m not bothered by the negative comments one bit. Everyone has a right to their opinion. However, the time for inclusive thinking is now.

“I won’t stop talking,” he wrote.

The statement comes a day after he described living with disability in Nigeria as lonely, scary and torturous.

His long Twitter thread about the condition of people living with disability followed complaints about the shoddy organisation at a concert by Grammy winner Burna Boy in Lagos on Sunday, January 1.

He described the concert as a disaster for lack of accessibility and inclusion for people living with disability, adding that when planning for major events, organisers do not put people like him into consideration.

Adebola, who holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University College London became confined to a wheelchair after he was diagnosed with paraplegia – a paralysis that affects the legs – at age five.
