Former Nollywood actress and family nurse Regina Askia has said she does not regret leaving her acting career.

The 50-year-old said this in a Punch interview on Sunday.

She said it is nice to leave in an environment where she is assured safety.

“No, I do not regret leaving my acting career. I am so grateful for how far I have come and the solid gains I have made. It is wonderful to live in an environment where I know I am safe and there is a future for my kids.

“I am in an enabling environment where skills are rewarded and in a profession that would ensure I am comfortable wherever I travel to on earth. I have no regrets,” she said.

Regina also spoke on her experience on the terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre, New York, on September 11, 2001.

She said, “Yes, I survived the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11, 2001. At that time, I was a manager at a company called Corporate Guard, which ran due diligence on Nigerian businesses seeking to partner with foreigners.

“We also marketed LaCampagne Tropicana Resorts. Our office was on the 79th floor of the International Office Suits. The planes hit just above our floor.

“I missed that catastrophe because I was pregnant with my second daughter, Teesa, and she was really hard on me, which made me late to work that day. I thank God I was late.”

Regina is married to American Rudolph Williams.

They have two children, Teesa and Rudolph Junior.

Regina has another daughter Stephanie from her past relationship.
