Four players Mourinho could offload and recruit in January

Chelsea hierarchy have received a transfer wish-list from head coach, Jose Mourinho, as he seems set to revamp the squad after a tumultuous start to the campaign, according to media reports.

The Portuguese gaffer got the backing of the club last month but three straight defeats in the last three league games have again put his Chelsea future into question.

According to the Standard Sport, Mourinho has made a list which includes the names of the players he wants to sign and offload.

If reports are to be believed, the club have acknowledged the mistakes they made in the summer transfer window and thus are standing by the 52-year-old.

Mourinho’s top targets – Paul Pogba, John Stones, Marquinhos and Christian Benteke – couldn’t be lured to move to Stamford Bridge. The West Londoners spent £50million to buy Asmir Begovic, Baba Rahman and Pedro. However, none of these signings have made a big impact since joining the Premier League champions.

Chelsea will once again approach Everton and PSG for Stones and Marquinhos respectively. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Alex Teixeira and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette are also being targeted to sharpen Chelsea’s dull attack.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has decided to sell Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Nemanja Matic and Oscar in January, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

The newspaper says striker Costa and midfielders Hazard, Oscar and Matic will all be allowed to leave the club as Mourinho freshens things up.
