FirstBank, Visa launch Visa Signature card for premium customers

FirstBank and Visa partnership

FirstBank of Nigeria and Visa have launched the Visa Signature card for premium customers in Nigeria.

The card was introduced through a partnership between both companies, according to a statement released on Friday.

Visa Signature is designed for executives, business owners and frequent international travellers, offering access to travel, lifestyle and merchant services through Visa’s global network.

The companies said the card supports both local and international transactions and gives users access to services from partner hotels, airlines and merchants in different countries.

Speaking on the launch, FirstBank group executive for eBusiness and retail products Chuma Ezirim said the bank introduced the product to meet the changing needs of customers.

“At FirstBank, we are dedicated to creating financial solutions that reflect the evolving lifestyles of our customers,” he said.

“We understand that our premium customers aspire to experiences that reflect their global outlook. Visa Signature is crafted to meet those expectations.”

Vice President and Cluster Head, West Africa, Visa, Andrew Uaboi, said the partnership would expand payment options for Nigerians who frequently carry out international transactions.

“Nigeria’s affluent consumers are among the most active and globally connected spenders on the continent,” he said.

“Visa Signature is designed to serve that profile with the depth of benefits and the breadth of acceptance they deserve.”

FirstBank said the launch expands its existing Visa card offerings, which include Visa Infinite, Visa Gold, Naira Credit and Visa Prepaid cards.

The bank added that eligible customers can apply for the Visa Signature card through FirstBank branches nationwide or through their relationship managers.
