Former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, has knocked President Muhammadu Buhari for his statement about rising insecurity in the country.
Mr Buhari returned to the country on Sunday after a 10-day ‘private visit’ to London, United Kingdom.
When the president was asked at the airport if there would be a different approach in the fight against insecurity, Buhari, with a little smile on his face, said: “No! Have you seen the IG? I think he’s losing weight so I think he’s working very hard.”
The former education minister, apparently displeased with his comment, bared her mind in a tweet on Monday.
“And this is supposed to be funny?” She asked.
“A President @MBuhari making a joke of the daily drenching of the country in the blood of his citizens who are killed daily without ANY consequence while he bears the title ‘Commander-in-Chief’ ? Carry on. Someday the Citizens will be ready.”
