Lloyd Ekweremadu, son of the former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has been listed among nominees to be screened by Enugu State House of Assembly for the role of commissioners.

Ekweremadu and wife Beatrice are serving jail terms in the United Kingdom. They were jailed in May for conspiring to traffic a market trader to the UK to harvest his kidney.

Also included in the 15-man list prepared by Governor Peter Mbah is Ada Chukwu, daughter of ex-governor Sullivan Chime.

Speaker of the House Uche Ugwu made the list public on Friday during plenary.

Also in the list which was signed by the Secretary of State Government Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, is a veteran broadcaster, Aka Aka, Prof. Ndubueze Mba, Mrs Ngozi Eni, Prof. Sam Ugwu, Chika Ugwoke and Kingsley Ude.

Others are former commissioners Prof. Emmanuel Obi and Okey Ogbodo, as well as Ugochi Madueke, Malachy Agbo, Gerrald Otiji, Nathaniel Urama and Lawrence Ezeh.

Onyia, in the letter, said this was not the complete list.

“While this may not be the exhaustive list, I’m optimistic that this request will receive your usual expeditious consideration,” he appealed.
