Edo APC gov candidate Monday Okpebholo congratulates Kaduna govt on release of abducted Kuriga schoolchildren

Governorship candidate of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election Senator Monday Okpebholo has congratulated Governor Uba Sanni and the people of Kaduna State on the release of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren.

This was disclosed in a statement made available to QEDNG on Monday.

Senator Okpebholo also praised President Bola Tinubu, national security adviser Nuhu Ribadu and security agencies, particularly the Nigerian Army, involved in the rescue.

One hundred and thirty-seven students of LGEA Primary School, Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State were abducted by gunmen on March 7.

They were released on Sunday, March 24.

According to the statement, Okpebholo, who currently represents Edo Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, commended Tinubu “for the priority that his administration has accorded security of the lives of Nigerians in the efforts being made to arrest criminalities in the country.” 

The Edo governorship hopeful added that “with the support of Nigerians and prayers, the current efforts by the APC administration would eventually rid the country of insecurity and usher in national prosperity in no distant time.”

On the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, Okpebholo promised to make security one of the focal points in his campaign.
