D’banj at 40: Kokomaster’s 10 most popular songs

Singer, D’banj, who was born on June 9, 1980, in Zaria, Kaduna State, is celebrating his 40th birthday.

The musician, whose real name is Oladapo Oyebanjo, is married to Lineo Kilgrow with whom he has two children, one of whom drowned in a swimming pool at their home in June 2018.

D’banj has won several awards including Best African Act at the 2007 edition of MTV Europe Music Awards and Artiste of the Year at the 2009 edition of MTV Africa Music Awards.

1. Tongolo: This was released in 2005 and features music producer, Don Jazzy, with whom he formed defunct music label, Mo’Hits Records.

3. Oliver Twist: The 2012 song features multiple award-winning star, Kanye West.

4. Gbono Feli Feli: Released in 2007 as a single off his third studio album, The Entertainer.

5. Feeling a Nikka (Remix): It was released in 2014 and features Senegalese-American singer, Akon.

6. Fall in Love (2008): The video for the song featured Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji, which sparked rumours of a romantic relationship between them.

7. Mobolowowon: This was released in 2005 as a single off his debut album, No Long Thing.

8. Don’t Tell Me Nonsense: Released in 2013, it peaked at number one on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 Chart.

9. Mr Endowed (Remix): It was released in 2010 and features American rapper, Snoop Dogg.

10. Finally: Released in 2013 as a single off his fifth studio album, D’Kings Men.
