Davido congratulates new Oyo speaker

Pop musician, Davido, has congratulated the newly elected speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin.

The 26-year-old singer posted his congratulatory message via social media on Monday.

Sharing a picture of Mr Ogundoyin, he wrote: “I love when Dreams come true!!!!! 3 years ago you were co managing @dremodrizzy with me ! Today you became THE SPEAKER OF THE OYO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY!!! I am so happy and Proud of you!!! Haha OGUN D !! #3 !! @debo_ogund ! 💪🏿💪🏿❤️❤️❤️😇😇🤗🤗.”

Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly elected 32-year-old Mr Ogundoyin as speaker on Monday.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ogundoyin was first elected into the assembly in 2018 after he won the bye-election held after former speaker, Michael Adeyemo, died on April 27, 2018.

The new speaker, representing Ibarapa East State Constituency, was unanimously elected through a voice vote of the 32 members of the assembly.

Ogundoyin is one of the sons of late industrialist, Adeseun Ogundoyin, a native of Eruwa, Oyo State, who died in 1991.
