David Oyelowo’s dad appears on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show

British-Nigerian actor, David Oyelowo, appeared on NBC’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night and brought his father, Stephen Oyelowo, to watch live in the audience.

The Selma actor was on the show last year and spoke about how his father loathes his surname being pronounced wrongly.

Oyelowo senior waved to the audience during the show and host, Fallon, was delighted to see the man he’s heard so much about.

The respectful man stood up several times to acknowledge cheers from the audience.

Born David Oyetokunbo Oyelowo, the 39-year-old actor got his big break In 2014 when he played Martin Luther King Jr in the biographical drama film Selma, for which he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor (Drama).
