Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hosted Nigerian British actor, director and producer David Oyelowo on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
In a post shared on Thursday on X, Sanwo-Olu said the meeting focused on discussions about the creative industry, storytelling, and opportunities that position Lagos as a leading hub for talent and innovation.
Sanwo Olu wrote: “I received Nigerian-British actor, director and producer David Oyelowo on a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
“We had a warm conversation about the creative industry, storytelling and the opportunities that continue to position Lagos as a leading hub for talent and innovation”.
Oyelowo, known for his roles in Selma, Queen of Katwe, and Lawmen: Bass Reeves, has continued to advocate for African stories and stronger global collaboration in film and television.
The meeting comes as Lagos State continues to promote its creative economy through support for filmmakers, music professionals, and digital content creators. The government has also sustained efforts around funding, partnerships, and infrastructure aimed at expanding opportunities within the sector.
