Law firm Crainsten Partners has issued a strong advisory to potential buyers over an aircraft at the centre of what it describes as an ongoing ownership dispute.
In a statement titled “Caveat Emptor – Aircraft Ownership Contention (Global Jurisdiction)”, signed by Charles B. Ndiomu Jr., the firm cautioned that the aircraft’s ownership and the authority to transfer its title remain unclear.
The aircraft in question, identified as M-MYNA (GLEX6000), with serial number Global 6000 SN9471, is currently registered in the Isle of Man.
Crainsten Partners warned that publicly available records do not conclusively establish who owns the aircraft or who has the legal right to sell it. As a result, the firm urged prospective buyers to carry out independent verification before entering into any transaction.
“Buyers should conduct independent title and authority verification and comply with applicable aviation regulations in all relevant jurisdictions,” the statement said.
While noting that no liens or encumbrances have been publicly disclosed in the Isle of Man registry, the firm emphasised that this does not eliminate potential risks. It advised interested parties to verify ownership details across multiple registries and jurisdictions.
The statement further clarified that the advisory does not waive any legal rights or suggest that ownership is uncontested.
Crainsten Partners ultimately urged caution, warning buyers to proceed at their own risk and to seek qualified legal and aviation counsel before engaging in any international transaction involving the aircraft.
The firm went a step further by advising against any purchase or transaction relating to the jet, stressing: “Buyers be warned.”
