MTN Nigeria has extended the application deadline for the fifth edition of its Media Innovation Programme to Saturday, April 25.

The company announced this in a statement on Wednesday signed by its public relations manager Lakinbofa Goodluck.

“The extension provides additional opportunity for qualified media professionals and digital content creators across Nigeria to apply for the programme,” the statement said.

The Media Innovation Programme is a six-month programme for media professionals and digital content creators across the country.

MTN Nigeria said the 2026 edition will admit 25 fellows, an increase from 20 in previous editions. It said the expansion is linked to its 25 years of operations in Nigeria.

“As MTN Nigeria marks 25 years of connecting people, the Media Innovation Programme represents an investment in the storytellers shaping how that connection is understood and shared,” the statement said.

The programme was launched in 2022 in partnership with the School of Media and Communication at Pan-Atlantic University.

It includes academic sessions, industry engagements and an international study visit to South Africa, with sessions at the University of Johannesburg.

“The programme equips participants with the knowledge, tools and networks required to lead and innovate within a changing media and technology space,” the statement said.

MTN Nigeria said the programme has produced participants who now work across print, broadcast and digital media.

The programme is open to media practitioners and digital content creators across different platforms.

Applicants are expected to show commitment to storytelling and professional development.

Shortlisted candidates will go through a selection process, while successful applicants will begin the programme in May 20.

Applications are open through the School of Media and Communication website.
