Coronavirus cases hit 40 in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed four new cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria, bringing the number to 40.

The centre said in a tweet late Monday that of the four new cases, three are in Lagos while one is in Abuja.

“Four new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 3 are in Lagos State and 1 in FCT,” it said.

“Two of these cases are returning travellers.

“As at 11:00pm on the 23rd of March, there are 40 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with 1 death recorded.”

Lagos continues to top the list of states with the highest incidence of the virus.

The state is on 28, Abuja – 7, Ogun – 2, while Ekiti, Oyo and Edo States have one each.
