Chris Okafor empowers orphans, widows with millions on birthday

Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle, Dr. Chris Okafor, on Sunday, April 29, 2017 celebrated his birthday by supporting dozens of widows, orphans and the poor in his fast-growing church, with headquarters in Ojodu, Lagos with N200,000 apiece, bags of rice and other gifts

Most of the beneficiaries had tears in their eyes as they were called out for the money and gifts. All of them, however, could not stop praying and thanking Dr. Okafor for always coming to their aid, especially when all hope seems lost.

One of them described the prophet as “the husband of widows, father of the fatherless and an angel of mercy.”

Adding that since the demise of their breadwinner, Okafor had filled the vacuum created by that. “What just happened here today is a daily occurrence. He doesn’t do this only during his birthday and festive period but always. That is why our prayer remains that God Almighty will continue to keep him for us and also keep blessing him,” she said.

Declining to comment on this act of kindness, after the day’s event, Okafor only muttered that he dislikes talking about things like that.

“Mine is that God blesses us to be blessings to others. And not to be talking about it or even making a show out of it. However, there is something major that I would like to talk about – and that is my mandate to win one billion souls for God.

“So, how many of that has he won so far? Well, we are making constant progress. But the truth remains that we haven’t hit the mark yet. We are on a divine journey. Therefore, our destination is guaranteed, by the grace of God,” he said.

Founder and general overseer of Greater Liberation City, Okafor is one of Nigeria’s most sought-after preachers.

A prolific writer and author, gifted teacher and speaker, his evangelical arm, Chris Okafor World Outreach Ministries (COWON), has been pulling mammoth crowd to all the places he has visited so far.

His Chris Okafor Humanity Foundation (COHF) has donated transformers, boreholes; constructed roads and houses for communities and individuals.
