Arise News broadcaster Ojy Okpe, while on her show ‘What’s Trending’, put the spotlight on Chimamanda who on October 25 introduced Mr Obi to an audience in the United States as the man, who according to popular opinion, won the presidential election.
Chimamanda, who was a guest speaker at the inaugural lecture of the Africa world lecture series at Princeton University in the United States, praised Obi for his humility.
Her introduction of the former Anambra State governor as winner of the poll came before the Supreme Court delivered its judgement on Thursday, October 26, dismissing appeals filed by Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and upholding the election of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
Captioning her post on Wednesday night, Chimamanda asked, “Are institutions, merely by existing, inherently worthy of respect or do they have to earn respect by consistently demonstrating transparency and integrity? Ajuju kam na-aju.”
