Cardi B responds to backlash over drugging, robbing men

American rapper, Cardi B has reacted to the backlash following a video of her which surfaced online admitting to drugging and robbing men for money while she was a stripper.

Many have said that she deserves the kind of treatment that alleged serial rapist, Bill Cosby, has been subjected to. Some others have even threatened to begin a #SurvivingCardiB in reference to the R. Kelly documentary “Surviving R. Kelly.”

In a statement on Tuesday on Instagram, the Grammy award winner said her options were very limited and that she needed to do anything to survive at the time.

The Instagram Live video which is brewing controversy, she says was recorded three years ago.

“All I can do now is be a better me for myself my family and my future,” Cardi B said.

The former stripper added that she was not trying to glorify her actions, but felt it was necessary at the time.

According to her, the men she spoke about in the video were those she dated and they were “conscious, willing and aware.”
