Buhari in Daura for Sallah, urges pilgrims to pray for Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday arrived in his country home, Daura, for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

Buhari landed at the Daura helipad at 6:35 pm in a presidential helicopter marked NAF -541 along with the members of his family and some aides.

He was accompanied by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu; Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs, Garba Darazo, and Chief Protocol Officer, Lawal Kazaure,

The President was received by the Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar, Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Wakili, and other dignitaries.

In his Sallah message, Buhari called on pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to pray for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians and successful conduct of the 2019 general elections.

The President made the appeal at a National Prayers session organised by NAHCON among Nigerian pilgrims to mark the Arafat Day in Saudi Arabia

Represented by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Muhammadu Dodo, Buhari said Nigeria needed prayers at this critical period to surmount challenges on its way to attain greatness.

He urged the pilgrims to use the opportunity of the Arafat as the greatest day for mankind, to supplicate to Almighty Allah for the country’s economic and political growth.
