Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has tested positive to COVID-19.
The governor’s spokesman Olayinka Oyebode confirmed this in a WhatsApp message shared with Qed.ng on Wednesday.
“Confirmed… Gov Fayemi tests positive to Covid-19,” Mr Oyebode’s short statement read.
Mr Fayemi, who is chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), later confirmed his coronavirus status in a Twitter message.
He added that he was already self-isolating at home and has delegated critical tasks to his deputy.
