Court orders DSS to release Sowore

A Federal High Court on Tuesday ordered the release of the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo ordered that Mr Sowore should be released from the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS) immediately and handed over to his lawyer, Femi Falana, who is to produce him for arraignment whenever he is required.

Sowore has been in DSS custody since August 2.

The Federal Government has filed charges of treason and money laundering against him.

Justice Taiwo also ruled that Sowore should deposit his passport and other travel documents to guarantee his availability for trial.
