Nigerians have called on the minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare, to intervene in the case of former Nigeria international, Samson Siasia, whose mother has been held by kidnappers for more than two months.

Beauty Siasia was kidnapped on July 15 in Odoni community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

She had earlier been kidnapped in November 2015, spending 13 days with her kidnappers until a ransom of about N600,000 was allegedly paid.

Siasia told NationSport early in September that his mother’s kidnappers had not set her free despite receiving N1.5 million ransom.

He said the abductors released his cousin’s mother-in-law, Florence Douanana, 66, and also took in an unnamed person who delivered the money to them.

Nigerians on Twitter have now resorted to bringing Mr Dare, who is currently in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly, into the matter.
