Bolanle Austen-Peters invited to speak at Harvard University

Award-winning filmmaker and producer, Bolanle Austen-Peters, has been invited to speak at Harvard University in the United States.

The director of The House of Ga’a shared the news on her verified X account on Thursday.

At 55, Austen-Peters continues to break new ground.

Fresh off the unveiling of her 10,000-acre BAP Film Village in Epe, Lagos, she is set to be a special guest speaker at the ‘Africa Alive’ event hosted by the Ivy League institution.

In addition to her speaking engagement, Austen-Peters will participate in the screening of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, a 2024 biopic highlighting the life of Nigerian activist Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, also taking place at Harvard.

Sharing her excitement, she tweeted, “Exciting times for African films as Harvard University invites me to speak as a special guest at ‘Africa Alive’, an unprecedented gathering of distinguished Africans and alumni, and to screen Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti.”

She also tagged her collaborators, including @Bapproductions_, @TerraKulture, and prominent figures like Femi Kuti and Joke Silva.
