The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has said that crossdresser Bobrisky will be kept in the male section of the facility and protected from sexual assault.

The crossdresser was sentenced to six months imprisonment on Friday by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos for abusing the naira.

He was then remanded to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, with the judge ruling that the sentence would commence on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest.

Bobrisky had pleaded guilty to the four-charge.

Awogboro stated that the sentencing was necessary to deter others from similar acts of abuse and mutilation of the naira.

Bobrisky told Awogboro that he was a man when asked to clarify his gender status before the court.

Speaking with Peoples Gazette, a spokesperson for the NCoS said, “Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court.

“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection.”
