Court sentences Bobrisky to six months imprisonment without option of fine

Controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky has been sentenced to six months imprisonment without any option fine for abuse of naira.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos gave the sentencing on Friday morning’

Justice Awogboro said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira.

Bobrisky was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for naira abuse.

The court had convicted him on April 5, following his guilty plea to a criminal charge brought against him by the commission.
