The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the February 23 election, Atiku Abubakar, have filed a motion seeking an order to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to surrender materials used for the polls for inspection.

The motion ex-parte was filed before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal on Tuesday.

Proceedings for the case will be heard at the Court of Appeal headquarters in Abuja.

Among the items that would be inspected are voters’ registers, smart card reader machines and ballot papers.

The applicants, through their lawyer, Chris Uche, joined INEC, President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the first, second and third respondents respectively.
